Name: Rebecca Smollen
DOB: 26 January 1978
Place of Birth: Sydney, Australia
Occupation: Content Creator

Did you always know you wanted to become a mother?
Yes — for as long as I can remember, my number one goal in life was to be a mum. Whenever someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would quickly say “A MUM!” It was always the most natural, certain part of my journey.

What brings you joy when you are having a bad day?
The constant smiles and enthusiasm from our daughters, topped off with their giant bear hugs. They’re intuitive and always the first to notice when I’m off — and the best at turning it around with laughter and optimism.

What are some items in your life you cannot live without?
Lipstick! I don’t wear much makeup, but I’m a sucker for a great lippy — Charlotte Tilbury is a favourite. Also, my phone and a statement crossbody bag are daily essentials.

How do you grow your creativity?
I believe creativity grows naturally through curiosity. Doing something you love, finding inspiration, unplugging, exercising, cooking, travelling, reading — even just setting a mood with music. It all adds up.

What energises you?
Exercise and healthy food. I’ve always loved movement — it’s never been a chore. If I skip it, I feel the difference immediately. Nourishing food is just as important. I live by the idea that if it doesn’t nourish me, I don’t need it (except for the occasional cheat meal!).

What are your favourite indulgences?
Red wine and homemade pasta — say no more!

What is your morning routine?
Every morning, my husband brings me hot lemon water in bed — he’s done it for 15 years! It’s my ritual. Then it’s coffee while getting the kids ready, school drop-off, and straight to the gym. On weekends, it’s a slower pace with beach walks and our mini schnauzer, Daisy.

Is there a moment that radically changed how you see the world?
Becoming a mother. Everything shifts — who you are, what you value, how you connect with others, your emotions, your confidence. It's a complete transformation.

What is one thing you’re loving right now?
Fashion! I’m always evolving my style and love that it keeps getting better. If I could reinvent my wardrobe every 12 months, I would.

What are your most important values?
Kindness, compassion, generosity, and good manners. I believe in the power of 'thank you' and 'please'. I also try to teach my children to be good listeners. My dad used to say, “Be interested, not interesting.”

How do you ground yourself in stressful times?
Exercise is key — or a long walk on the beach with Daisy. Watching her trot along carefree reminds me how fortunate we really are.
